My dear Khalid, 

I am giad to receive your letter. You have wanted to know about how we have celebrated our Independence Day in our college premises. Now I am going to tell you someng a we celebrated the Independence Day in our college on 26 March 2015 by paying homage to the martyrs who gave their lives in Liberation War against Pakistan in 1971. It was our 104 Independence Day. The day, marking the beginning of the fight by Bengalis in erstwhile East Pakistan for freedom was celebrated with various programmes in the college premises. On the occasion the college took a different look. Our programme began with the hoisting of our national flag in the morning. At 09:30 a.m. a drawing competition and prize given ceremony for children was held at the college auditorium. Our Principal awarded prizes among the winners as the Chief Guest. A charity cricket match between teachers and students was also held at the play ground at 11:00 am. In the afternoon a milad-mahfil was arranged at the college mosque. Later, in the evening our cultural club arranged a colourful cultural programme. Students from various years participated in presenting patriotic songs, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, folk songs, modern songs, one-act play, dance etc. Teachers, students and invited guests enjoyed the programme most. At about 10.00 p.m. the closing of the function was declared. I hope your college might have celebrated the Independence Day in a memorable manner. I am eagerly looking forward to hearing from you. আমার প্রিয় খালিদ,

তোমার চিঠি পেয়ে আমি গর্বিত। আমরা আমাদের কলেজ প্রাঙ্গণে আমাদের স্বাধীনতা দিবস কীভাবে উদযাপন করেছি সে সম্পর্কে আপনি জানতে চেয়েছেন। এখন আমি আপনাকে কিছু কথা বলতে যাচ্ছি যে আমরা 26 মার্চ 2015 সালে আমাদের কলেজে স্বাধীনতা দিবস উদযাপন করেছি যারা 1971 সালে পাকিস্তানের বিরুদ্ধে মুক্তিযুদ্ধে তাদের জীবন দিয়েছিলেন তাদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করে। এটি ছিল আমাদের 104 তম স্বাধীনতা দিবস। পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের স্বাধীনতার জন্য বাঙালিদের সংগ্রামের সূচনা উপলক্ষে কলেজ প্রাঙ্গণে নানা কর্মসূচির মধ্য দিয়ে পালিত হয় দিনটি। এ উপলক্ষে কলেজটি ভিন্ন রূপ নিয়েছে। সকালে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলনের মধ্য দিয়ে আমাদের কর্মসূচি শুরু হয়। সকাল সাড়ে ৯টায় কলেজ মিলনায়তনে শিশুদের চিত্রাঙ্কন প্রতিযোগিতা ও পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। আমাদের অধ্যক্ষ প্রধান অতিথি হিসেবে বিজয়ীদের মধ্যে পুরস্কার প্রদান করেন। সকাল ১১টায় খেলার মাঠে শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে একটি চ্যারিটি ক্রিকেট ম্যাচও অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বিকেলে কলেজ মসজিদে মিলাদ-মাহফিলের আয়োজন করা হয়। পরে সন্ধ্যায় আমাদের সাংস্কৃতিক ক্লাব এক বর্ণাঢ্য সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করে। দেশাত্মবোধক গান, রবীন্দ্রসংগীত, নজরুল গীতি, লোকগীতি, আধুনিক গান, একনাট্য নাটক, নৃত্য ইত্যাদি পরিবেশনায় বিভিন্ন বর্ষের শিক্ষার্থীরা অংশগ্রহণ করে। অনুষ্ঠানটি সবচেয়ে বেশি উপভোগ করেন শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী ও আমন্ত্রিত অতিথিরা। রাত প্রায় 10.00 টার দিকে অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করা হয়। আমি আশা করি আপনার কলেজ একটি স্মরণীয় পদ্ধতিতে স্বাধীনতা দিবস উদযাপন করতে পারে। আমি অধীর আগ্রহে আপনার কাছ থেকে শোনার জন্য উন্মুখ. শুভেচ্ছা ও ভালোবাসা সহ।
