My dear Asif, 

I am very happy to receive your letter of the 4th instant. From the letter I have come to know that you have wanted to know what I intend to do after the H.S.C examination. You know ours is an over populated country. Again most of the people are illiterate. They do not know how to read and write. They have no knowledge about education, health, family planning and the scientific method of cultivation. But education is the backbone of a nation. No nation can advance and progress without education. Ignorance is similar to darkness. The people of my village are far away from the light of education which is the prerequisite of the advancement of a nation. So I have taken a firm decision that I would spend my time in teaching them about the necessity of good health, family planning and the scientific method of cultivation. If the villagers are properly taught about these essential things, I think they would be able to lead a healthy life.

আমি আপনার 4র্থ তাত্ক্ষণিক চিঠি পেয়ে খুব খুশি. চিঠি থেকে আমি জানতে পেরেছি যে আপনি জানতে চেয়েছেন আমি H.S.C পরীক্ষার পর কি করতে চাই। আপনি জানেন আমাদের একটি অতি জনবহুল দেশ। আবার অধিকাংশ মানুষই অশিক্ষিত। তারা পড়তে ও লিখতে জানে না। শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য, পরিবার পরিকল্পনা এবং চাষাবাদের বৈজ্ঞানিক পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে তাদের কোনো জ্ঞান নেই। কিন্তু শিক্ষাই জাতির মেরুদন্ড। শিক্ষা ছাড়া কোনো জাতি এগিয়ে যেতে পারে না। অজ্ঞতা অন্ধকারের মতোই। আমার গ্রামের মানুষ শিক্ষার আলো থেকে অনেক দূরে যা একটি জাতির অগ্রগতির পূর্বশর্ত। তাই আমি দৃঢ় সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছি যে আমি তাদের সুস্বাস্থ্যের প্রয়োজনীয়তা, পরিবার পরিকল্পনা এবং চাষের বৈজ্ঞানিক পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে শেখাতে আমার সময় ব্যয় করব। গ্রামবাসীদের এই প্রয়োজনীয় বিষয়গুলো সম্পর্কে সঠিকভাবে শিক্ষা দিলে তারা সুস্থ জীবনযাপন করতে পারবে বলে আমি মনে করি।
