Once a stream ran through a green field. There lived an ant beside the stream. One day the ant to the stream to drink water. While drinking water, suddenly the ant fell into the running water.

"Help! Help!" shouted the ant. But no one heard him. A dove was sitting on a tree near the stream. He saw the miserable condition of the ant and felt pity. Very quickly he broke off a wide piece of grass. He flew over the stream and dropped the grass right before the ant. 

The little ant climbed onto the grass. Soon the grass struck in some reeds and the ant climbed onto the bank. What a lucky escape! After a few days the ant was looking for food beside the stream. He stood still hearing the cooing of a dove. 

He saw that it was the same dove that saved his life. He was very happy to see the dove and wanted to show his gratefulness by waving but of no use.

ছোট্ট পিঁপড়াটি ঘাসে উঠে গেল। শীঘ্রই ঘাস কিছু নলগুলিতে আঘাত করল এবং পিঁপড়াটি পাড়ে উঠে গেল। কি সৌভাগ্যের পলায়ন! কিছু দিন পর পিঁপড়াটি স্রোতের পাশে খাবার খুঁজছিল। ঘুঘুর ডাক শুনে সে স্থির হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল।

So, she dropped a leaf in front of the ant. The ant got on the leaf and the dove took the leaf on the bank of the pond. Thus the dove saved the ant's life. Being grateful, the ant thanked her a lot. Another day, when the ant was seeking food under that tree, he noticed that a hunter was aiming at the dove. The dove did not notice it. The ant thought, "I must save the life of the dove as she saved mine the other day". So, he bit on the right leg of the hunter. At this the hunter's hands trembled and the bullet missed its aim.
